What is AAU’s Business Administration Degree?

The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Business Administration program provides students with a versatile and comprehensive business education that prepares them for a wide range of careers. Rather than focusing on a single specialization, students develop knowledge across multiple business disciplines, including management, marketing, finance, economics, communications, and business law.

The program is ideal for students who want flexibility in their future career path or who wish to explore several areas of business before specializing. Through practical projects, internships, international perspectives, and close interaction with faculty, students develop the confidence and adaptability needed to succeed in today’s rapidly changing global economy.

This program is a general-focus option, suited to students whose primary aim is breadth, rather than depth, or for those who wish to construct their own curriculum.

Program Structure

How Does the B.A. in Business Administration Work?

For the Business Administration (Major) program, the following minors are available:

  • International Relations
  • Humanities, Society, and Culture
  • Psychology
  • International and European Legal Studies
  • Journalism and Media Studies
  • Visual Art Studies

Complete a three-year bachelor’s degree in business administration while earning qualifications recognized in both the United States and the Czech Republic. Students build a strong foundation in business management, marketing, finance, economics, communication, and leadership while maintaining flexibility through electives and optional minors. To graduate, students must accumulate 90 US credits (180 ECTS credits) by completing 30 courses. This program does not include a specific concentration. Instead, students are required to take more major courses, which allows for more choice of electives.

Having passed all the required and elective courses, students complete their studies by taking the graduation examination which includes a state exam covering the major module and a thesis defense.

Qualification Awarded

Is the B.A. in Business Administration Recognized Internationally?

Yes. Graduates receive a degree recognized in both the United States and the Czech Republic through AAU’s dual accreditation. This allows graduates to pursue business careers, postgraduate study, and professional opportunities internationally.

The degree awarded is concurrently recognized as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in the United States, as per AAU’s accreditation by the WASC Senior College and University Commission, and as a Bakalář (Bc.) in Czechia, as per AAU’s accreditation by the National Accreditation Bureau for Higher Education (NABHE). Graduates may select whether to use the U.S. post-nominal or the Czech pre-nominal title.
