Studying Abroad at AAU
Spending a semester or a year at Anglo American University in Prague is an exceptional way in completing your university experience. You can enter AAU as a visiting student, specifically as:
- Erasmus Exchange student if you are coming from a university with which AAU has an Erasmus+ agreement. You must be nominated from your home university to study at AAU as an Erasmus Exchange student.
- University Exchange student if you are coming from a university with which AAU cooperates on a different type of university exchange agreement. You must be nominated by your home university to be qualified as a university exchange student.
- Study Abroad student if you come from other colleges or universities with which AAU cooperates on a non-exchange basis.
Prepare and collect required documents
Once you decide which type of visiting student you are it is time to prepare the documents. You will be able to upload them directly via the AAU Application Portal once you start your application.
Please scan your passport to PDF format in high resolution and in color. Make sure that 4 corners are included in your scan.
This photo will be used for your AAU student card. It must have a white background and must resemble your passport photo format.
Please submit your official university transcript. Please note that you must have completed no less than 15 semester credits (30 ECTS) and have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher. Should you have a lower GPA, you may apply for a GPA waiver by submitting a personal statement and two letters of recommendation.
All non-native English-speaking applicants are required to submit proof of English proficiency at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). AAU recognizes multiple tests as evidence of the B2 level proficiency:
TOEFL (iBT min. 71, PBT min. 525)
IELTS (min. 6 – minimum of 5.5 in each subtest)
FCE (min. C)
CAE (min. 160)
BULATS (min. 60)
City & Guilds – IESOL (Communicator)
Pearson PTE (min. 59)
IGCSE First Language English (C or better)
IGCSE English as a Second Language (B or better)
IB (English A or B at HL/SL)
The English language test requirement is waived if you meet one of the following criteria:
Completed a minimum of twelve months academic education leading to an awarded qualification in a ‘majority English speaking’ country (Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, United States of America) no more than two years prior to the proposed date of enrollment.
In order to apply please register and submit an online application via the AAU Application Portal. There is a non-refundable CZK 1,000 application fee which can be submitted online through the portal. You will be also able to submit all required documents directly through the portal.
Please note: University and Erasmus Exchange students are waived from paying the application fee based on existing university agreements.
Wait for Final Decision
AAU International Office will notify you through e-mail on the outcome of your application one week from the date of your interview.
Register for Classes
Once the decision is positive you should contact your AAU Assistant Dean to register for classes. The Assistant Dean will advise and guide you on the available options and the registration process. University and Erasmus Exchange students are waived from paying tuition based on existing university agreements. Study abroad students are required to complete tuition payment prior to starting the registration process. A detailed invoice will be sent by the staff of AAU International Office.
