Afghan Refugee Scholarship

Coverage

Anglo-American University offers two full-scholarship opportunities for Afghan refugees who were evacuated from Afghanistan and settled in Czechia in August of 2021. The scholarships will cover the tuition and fees for an entire AAU degree program and a flat support allowance of 60 000 CZK for additional expenses.

Eligibility and Requirements

This scholarship is open to Afghan citizens evacuated from Afghanistan in August 2021 who are now part of the State Integration Program of the Czech Republic.

English Proficiency requirements are as follows:

  • For undergraduate studies: IELTS – 6.0, TOEFL iBT– 71, or TOEFL PBT – 525
  • For graduate studies: IELTS – 7.0, TOEFL iBT– 87, or TOEFL PBT – 567

Application Process

In order to apply, please fill the online application form or visit our Admissions Office in person. As a part of the application, please submit the following documents via e-mail at: admissions@aauni.edu or in person:

  1. Essay responding to one of the following topics (minimum 1000 words):
    – Describe an example of leadership experience in which you positively influenced others, helped resolve disputes, and/or contributed to group efforts.
    – What would you say is your greatest talent? How have you developed and demonstrated that talent over time?
    – Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. What have you learned from the experience?
  2. Copy of passport/ID
  3. Diploma and transcript from last completed educational level (if available)

Note: The application fee is waived for all applicants.

Selection Process

After document submission, the university will verify each applicant’s status within the State Integration Program. Eligible candidates will then be scheduled for an interview with the dean of the school applied to, either in-person or via Skype, and the AAU Academic Committee will select two recipients for the scholarship.
