The Visegrad Project: Get Involved
Are you looking to get more involved with research at AAU? The Visegrad project team would like to announce that part of the project, ‘Comparing Responses to the COVID-19 Pandemic: Alternative Leadership Styles in the V4’, is a competition for the best BA thesis and MA thesis on the topics of leadership and governance in and among the V4 states.
What is the Project?
The project addresses two questions: What has the response been to the COVID pandemic among the V4 leaders?; and How can an adaptive leadership approach better aid the V4 societies to navigating the health and societal effects of this and future pandemics? The team’s approach will be interdisciplinary in terms of sources, theories and methods.
The Competition
The theses can be defended in any program of study at AAU and in any academic discipline and from any perspective of investigation. It is not necessary to write on the topic of COVID-19 or the pandemic; just leadership and governance in relation to one or more of the V4 states (Czechia, Slovakia, Poland, or Hungary). Examination of any other country can not be considered.
Theses on the abovementioned topics must be submitted to AAU and the partner institutions of the project between September 22, 2021, and February 28, 2023, to be considered. In March 2023, the project team will decide on and announce the winners.
The best thesis at each level will be awarded 500.00 EUR. The award and ceremony will be publicized across the Visegrad region.
It is very important not to miss this unique opportunity. Beyond a financial award, winners will receive large publicity within AAU and outside (in media), the award will be solemnly announced, and it should be considered an important addition to the CV of the winners.
Email submissions to George Hays II (george.hays@aauni.edu). Clearly state in the email that the thesis is being submitted for the project award.
