AAU’s first Homecoming Ball was a huge success! After a long pandemic-fueled gap, students were finally able to gather in our beautiful campus to celebrate the start of the semester and dance together. Cafe Des Taxis and the first floor of Thurn-Taxis Palace were both transformed into multi-use event spaces decorated with lights, amazing art pieces from our students, dancing areas, and even a photo booth!

Starting off this lavish evening, guests checked their coats at the door, raised a glass of prosecco and enjoyed some light refreshments and snacks while listening to opening remarks from our awesome Student Council. The remainder of the night was packed with student performances and fun including pianist Herman Stavyskyi and Ondine Gontier, as well as Daniela Pasquel and Javier Tascón performing their renditions of “Ex’s and Oh’s”, “Shallow” and “Girl on Fire”. Following a brief interlude, guests were further entertained by a performance from the AAU dancing club led by President Yelizaveta Korytnyk, and original live music rocked the palace at the end of the night from local Prague band Vulture.

As for the afterparty? …well, what happens at the afterparty STAYS at the afterparty. We would, once again, like to thank the Student Council and all the volunteers involved for making this amazing evening possible!
