Why More International Students Are Choosing Prague
AAU’s Vice President for Student Affairs Jeta Sahatqija was recently featured in Žena-In discussing why Prague continues to attract international students from around the world. The article explores how the Czech capital combines academic quality, cultural richness, safety, and accessibility, making it an increasingly popular destination for higher education.
According to Sahatqija, students are drawn to Prague because it offers the experience of living in a major European capital while remaining welcoming and easy to navigate.
“Prague is attractive to students because it feels both European and manageable. They can experience life in a major European city, but without the overwhelming scale, high costs, or intensity of cities such as London, Paris, Rome, or Amsterdam,” said Sahatqija.
At AAU, students study in English while joining an international community representing more than 80 nationalities. As Sahatqija explains, the experience extends far beyond the classroom, with Prague itself becoming an important part of students’ academic and personal growth.
