Nominations Open for the 2026 Jan Opletal Awards

Nominations are now open for the 2026 Jan Opletal Awards, the highest student distinction in the Czech Republic recognizing young people who make an exceptional contribution to their communities and surroundings.

Presented by the Student Chamber of the Council of Higher Education Institutions (SK RVŠ) since 2004, the awards recognize and support young people who defend human rights, strengthen freedoms, contribute to the fight against injustice or discrimination, and advocate for equal treatment and opportunities.

Anyone can nominate a candidate, so don’t hesitate to recognize an AAU student or a young member of the AAU community. Your nomination could bring their story to the attention of the Awards Committee, and perhaps even earn them a Jan Opletal Award!

Nominating is easy: simply fill out the online nomination form by Friday, October 2, 2026.
