AAU alumnus Maximilian Colloredo-Mansfeld was recently featured in an interview with Hospodářské noviny, where he discussed entrepreneurship, cultural heritage, and his efforts to make private collections more accessible through his startup Kollektor.

Colloredo-Mansfeld, CEO and co-founder of Kollektor and a graduate of AAU’s Visual Arts Studies program, moved to Prague to pursue his interest in art, collections, and cultural heritage.

“I’ve always been more interested in art, so I enrolled in the cultural management and curatorial studies program at the Anglo-American University in Prague. I figured it might come in handy now that they’ve started returning our art collections as well.”

Today, he is building a platform that connects private collectors with museums and galleries around the world, helping cultural institutions discover, exhibit, and study significant works and artifacts. Reflecting on his family history and the responsibility of preserving cultural heritage, Colloredo-Mansfeld said:

“I’m proud to be part of a family that has such a great history, and I am proud of its decisions during turbulent times. Now I feel it is up to me to share part of that history with others.”
