Alumna Nicole Stava Brings Contemporary Art to Bechyně Castle
Swiss‑born Nicole Marie Therese Stava has turned the historic Bechyně Castle into a vibrant hub for contemporary art, blending the castle’s storied past with daring new installations.
A former youngest head of Christie’s Central European office and a former art‑market consultant, Stava now leads the “Současné umění a sochařský park” project that attracts hundreds of Czech and international visitors each season.
The project showcases how art can serve as a mirror of society while breathing new life into a historic site.
Stava, who earned her degree in Political and Social Sciences from Anglo‑American University, now leads the project that merges the castle’s storied past with daring new installations. Recent exhibitions have explored themes ranging from human rights to “relationship dynamics,” each inviting dialogue between visitors and artwork.
