AAU Community Day Brings University Together to Kick Off New Semester

Anglo-American University welcomed students, faculty, and staff back to campus with Community Day, bringing the university community together for a full day of activities to celebrate the start of the new semester.

The day combined academic discussion with opportunities to connect across the AAU community. Ideas Across AAU invited participants to explore topics ranging from disinformation and responsible business to what it means to be human in the age of AI.

The program continued with a community lunch, a trivia competition led by Professor Joel Imhoof, and the unveiling of a portrait honoring one of AAU’s founders, Lenka Deverová.

“[Community Day] let students from all years bond, socialize and get to know one another,” Cameran Vierthaler, Student Council Club Coordinator and second-year student, told The Lennon Wall. “Teachers and students also mingled and got the opportunity to talk outside of class which provide[d] a unique experience.”

The day wrapped up in the courtyard with live music from DJ Roga. Community Day offered a chance to connect with faces, old and new, and start the academic year together.
