AAU Career Expo 2025
AAU’s annual Career Expo brought 15 companies to meet students and lead workshops about their missions, projects, and advice for emerging professionals. Students built connections and prepared for the next step in their career journeys whether they were actively job-hunting or simply curious about future opportunities.
“The great thing about being here is that it offers the companies to see the diversity of our student body—over 80+ nationalities—but it also offers students the opportunity to see the jobs available to them within their disciplines and beyond,” said Business Professor Jeff Medeiros.
AAU Career Expo is the largest networking event of the semester, connecting students with employers from a wide range of industries, many of which employ AAU alumni. Companies who attended include:
“I myself started as an intern, and now I am a fulltime employee,” said one Honeywell representative, “so it is really important for me to represent my company for the students of AAU to show them the opportunities that await them.”
The lectures and workshops led by company representatives offered valuable insights into their industries and practical advice for career development. The topics covered ranged from talks about AI and Project Erasmus to succeeding in the Czech job market and how to be a good leader.
“This event opened the door to my future because the company representatives gave me information about what I could do and answered all my questions,” said one student.
“Companies gave me advice on how to search for opportunities and opened my eyes to what is available,” said another student.
Jobspin, the Czech Republic’s largest job fair, attended to give students advice and promote their next job fair on April 17, 2026 which can connect employment-seekers, especially non-Czech speakers, to many different opportunities. The Jobspin representative recommended students go out of their way to talk to as many recruiters as possible and bring hard copies of your CV to stand out to potential employers.
“The most important thing for students when they’re looking for a job is to be open minded about what jobs there are, especially when you consider AI, new innovation, and constantly changing roles. It’s really their critical thinking, leadership, and adaptability—skills learned in and out of the classroom—that will be applicable,” advised Professor Medeiros.
