Room 2.07

Lord Stuart Peach, the British Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to the Western Balkans, will pay a visit to AAU on December 8, 2023, from 2 pm to 3 pm, in room 2.07, to discuss the current state and future of the Western Balkans.

Lord Peach will offer a few opening thoughts, after which attendees may ask questions, share their thoughts, and exchange ideas with the Lord. The discussion should prove of particular value to those with an interest in the Western Balkans, but all are welcome to attend.

The Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to the Western Balkans collaborates with leaders and others in the region to bolster stability there. His work entails advancing democracy and open society; addressing organized crime and other challenges to joint security; and helping to resolve legacy issues, including war crimes and missing persons.

Prior to his appointment as special envoy, Lord Peach served as the 32nd Chairman of the Military Committee of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), one of the most senior positions in the alliance. He boasts a long and decorated military career, is holder of four honorary doctorates from various UK institutions, and was knighted by Her Majesty The Queen in 2009.

This event should no doubt be interesting. We look forward to seeing you there!
