Marie Burda

Marie earned her Master’s degree from Masaryk University in Brno, where she focused on finance. She has worked and lived across the globe, serving in different roles and industries and working with several languages.

After a number of years managing a small NGO in various countries of former Yugoslavia, Marie fell in love with the region. Her multifarious career has seen her work for a governmental agency where she was responsible for foreign direct investment support, as an industrial developer, and in the field of international corporations.

Marie manages the Study Abroad Office team and is responsible for the creative, contractual, and financial aspects of the university’s study abroad programs. She also handles custom program management, having inherited that responsibility from her previous role at AAU.

Marie enjoys the international aspect of her position and especially relishes traveling with groups to parts of the country off the beaten path, in pursuit of academic enlightenment.
