Start a Club
Starting your own student club/organization is easy, fun and a great opportunity to develop your leadership skills. To get started, simply find five friends who are interested in joining you and contact the Student Life Specialist, Dan Padolsky at firstname.lastname@example.org. You will need to provide the name of the club, the proposed leader, contact details, social media handles if relevant, a brief mission statement describing the purpose of your group, and, if applicable, the name of the staff or faculty member who will advise the club.
The AAU Independent Literature Research Society wants students to expand their horizons in the area of literature. By joining the club, students will share different stories which they have read as well as analyze short stories and poems as a group. The different perspectives will allow students to grow and develop their opinions and understandings.

Art should be a unifier of people, which is also the intention of our club. It is the language of creativity hidden in every single one of us. Though by growing up we often abandon the inner artist , because we feel our art isn’t enough. The ART CLUB will make a comfy space for you to express yourself artistically via different mediums, to dive deeper into your thoughts, and to connect with people on a different level than you are normally used to. We will be drawing, painting, doing collages, working with textiles, visiting galleries and artist studios, and most important of all… having a great time together reconnecting with our inner artist.

Friends against violence club is a club dedicated to social and political change through fundraising. While fundraising for multiple organizations in fun and effective ways, we are able to communicate our message to help and empower different social groups. Other than fundraising, we discuss topics as broad as the subject of racism to the discussion of women’s marches around the world. Our club creates a community of individuals from all over to express their opinions on debatable matters while simultaneously giving them a platform to help fundraise for those issues.

Our intention with Yoga Club is to create a free space for like-minded people to meet and share inspiration surrounding meditation, yoga and general wellness. In the midst of a pandemic, sustained yoga practice allows the individual to regain mental clarity and calmness through intentional presence, especially with the support of others. We plan to meet for yoga practice virtually in these early months and transition outdoors to local parks as soon as the weather permits. All are welcome, bring your mat and an open mind! Feel free to reach out with any questions.
