AAU Faculty Member Prof. Zuzana Havránková Featured on the Front Page of Hospodářské noviny

Anglo-American University congratulates Prof. Zuzana Havránková, distinguished economist and member of AAU’s faculty, for being prominently featured in the front-page weekend edition of Hospodářské noviny (HN Víkend) on August 15, 2025. Her interview was also announced on the front page of the main newspaper, highlighting her influence and expertise in economics.
In the article, titled “Milujeme pokrok, když se neodehrává na našem dvorku, říká nejmladší profesorka” (“We love progress when it doesn’t happen in our own backyard, says the youngest professor”), Prof. Havránková discusses her views on economic policy, the impact of Trump’s trade tariffs, and the growing interconnection between business and politics. She also shares her perspective on climate change studies and the potential of artificial intelligence for economists.
The interview took place at AAU’s historic Thurn-Taxis Palace campus, where Prof. Havránková is developing a new Master’s program to help students understand and navigate the increasingly intertwined worlds of politics and business.
Prof. Havránková is the youngest full professor in the history of Charles University and one of the most cited Czech economists, with more than 30 peer-reviewed publications. Alongside her impressive research career, she balances family life with raising four children.
Her feature in Hospodářské noviny underscores the caliber of AAU’s faculty — accomplished academics who bring real-world insight and global expertise directly into the classroom.
