Special Visit by Former Slovak President Andrej Kiska

AAU is honored to welcome Andrej Kiska, former president of Slovakia, for a special lecture and Q&A session on April 9 at 5 p.m. in room 2.07.
Known for his integrity and hands-on leadership, Kiska served as Slovakia’s president from 2014 to 2019, where he became a vocal advocate for democracy, human rights, and transparency. He stood firmly against corruption, supported youth-led civic movements, and often acted as a counterweight to the government during turbulent times, earning recognition as Slovakia’s most trusted politician.
Before entering politics, Kiska found success as a self-made entrepreneur and was named “Manager of the Year” in Slovakia in 2006. He later co-founded Dobrý Anjel (Good Angel), the country’s most successful nonprofit charity, which has helped thousands of families facing financial hardship due to serious illness. He is also the author of two books reflecting on happiness, success, and life, offering wisdom that continues to resonate with young people and aspiring leaders.
This event offers a unique opportunity to hear firsthand from a leader who’s shaped politics in Central Europe and inspired a new generation to lead with purpose. All students, faculty, staff, and alumni are welcome, but registration is required as space is limited. Register here.
And don’t forget to bring questions!
