This year’s graduation ceremony will take place on June 30, 2023, in the beautiful Národní dům na Vinohradech. All graduating students should keep an eye on their emails – there are important details to come!

Dear Graduating Student,

Congratulations again on finishing your studies! Find below important information regarding the Graduation Ceremony 2023, we look forward to seeing you in attendance.

On the Day

The ceremony will take place on Friday, June 30th in Národní dům na Vinohradech in Mayakovsky Hall. It is very important for you to be present by 8:30 AM for the orientation session and rehearsal. Please note that the event starts for your guests at 11.00 AM.

After the graduation ceremony, please do not leave as you will be directed back immediately to Mayakovsky Hall for the graduating year 2022/23 group photo.

To ensure that the ceremony runs smoothly you are expected to come to Národní dům na Vinohradech at 8:30 AM as stated above. All graduates will partake in a rehearsal and have the event order explained. This is a special event so please make sure to leave any additional celebratory plans until after 2 PM when the ceremony officially finishes.

It is vital that you come on time as there will not be time to familiarize you with the relevant details concerning the ceremony later on.

The expected end of the ceremony is 1.30 PM – 2 PM.

We are happy to share that the ceremony will also be streamed online for students who cannot attend in person.

Dress Code

Although all graduating students are required to wear the graduation regalia, provided by AAU, students are to conform to a formal dress code for the ceremony.

Formal dress can be defined as: a suit and a tie ensemble with dress shoes for men, and a formal dress, pantsuit or other formal attire with dress shoes for women. Short sleeves on shirts and blouses are allowed.

Graduation is a special celebratory event, out of respect for the event and your fellow peers, please comply with the formal dress code, otherwise, you will not be permitted to take part in the Graduation Ceremony.


All financial obligations with AAU must be cleared prior to graduation as any student with a financial obligation to AAU cannot receive their diploma. And of course, your state exams must be successfully completed.

Obligations also include returning all reading materials to the AAU Library prior to graduation
