Drawing Reality: Media Representation in Contemporary Comics

Room L131 (Library Building)

Join award-winning writer and artist Lucie Lomová for a lecture and Q&A session about media representation in contemporary comics.

Lomová will explore how contemporary comics construct, question, and reshape reality. Moving beyond the idea of comics as simple illustration, she examines how visual framing, narrative sequencing, and stylistic choices shape cultural memory, identity, and historical representation.

Through examples from her own work and international graphic storytelling, Lomová will reflect on the politics of perspective, the ethics of depiction, and the power of images to mediate truth.

All are welcome and questions about authorship, media influence, and visual storytelling practices are encouraged!
