240 hours

We are proud to invite you to 240 Hours, an upcoming exhibition by AAU student Alejandro Perez, presenting a raw and immersive exploration of the human mind in the throes of drug-induced psychosis and bipolar disorder.
240 Hours is the result of Alejandro’s deeply personal journey through 240 sleepless hours that reshaped his perception of himself and the world around him. Through a powerful mix of photography, installation, video, sound, and performance, the exhibition invites visitors to step inside Alejandro’s experience—offering a rare and intimate look at the delicate boundary between chaos and clarity, madness and recovery.
The exhibition is structured around three pivotal chapters of his journey:
- The Engagement — A sensory installation of chaos and entrapment, immersing visitors in the confusion and disorientation of a manic state through distorted light, sound, and disembodied voices.
- The Kidnapping — A haunting reflection on loss of control and fragmentation of self, expressed through intricate glass installations, oppressive atmospheres, and powerful visual metaphors.
- The Rescue — A calming and restorative space, representing healing and recovery through soft textures, soothing light, and meditative soundscapes.
Photography and video installations throughout the space capture the emotional extremes of Alejandro’s experience, while a short film offers a cinematic journey from destruction to redemption.
To conclude the exhibition, Alejandro will perform a special DJ set alongside close friends, transforming the gallery into a space of connection, rhythm, and celebration—a final act that invites the audience to move, feel, and embrace the messy beauty of survival.
This project is supported by Reluvotion and mentored by Bjorn Steinz.
Through 240 Hours, Alejandro opens a space for reflection on mental health, identity, and resilience—inviting each visitor to confront their own perceptions and discover the profound strength found in reclaiming one’s mind.
