Room 2.07

You are invited to a conference, organized by the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, that will explore the intersections between interreligious dialogue, education, and academic research, fostering discussion on the opportunities and challenges of cooperation between academic and religious institutions worldwide.

This event will bring together Czech Christian and Jewish religious leaders, scholars from European institutions, a delegation from Al-Azhar hosted by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and representatives of several MENA Embassies who will address contemporary humanitarian challenges—including exclusion, hatred, extremism, terrorism, and war—while promoting the values of shared coexistence, tolerance, and mutual respect.

Through three thematic panels, the conference will examine key questions shaping future collaboration between academia and religious institutions:

  • How religious institutions can benefit from research methodologies and advances in education to enhance interreligious dialogue;
  • How educational curricula may draw upon dialogue initiatives to foster a culture of tolerance among students and researchers;
  • Whether academic research strengthens dialogue initiatives led by religious institutions;
  • What the most prominent existing models of cooperation between academic environments and dialogue initiatives reveal about effective partnership practices.

Join for an afternoon of open, academic dialogue to address contemporary challenges.
