Room 2.05

Join a panel of AAU historians—Ebru Akcasu, Bill Eddleston and Jakub Drabik—as they discuss the 250th US anniversary and how to assess the country at this national milestone.

The President of the United States has announced that official celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence ought to “inspire a renewed love for American history.”

What does that history actually tell us about America? Is it a story of liberty and hope, of hypocrisy and violence, or some very human mixture of these extremes?

Come to learn about history and this topic which has become so polarizing.
