Martin Káňa, MgA., is a Czech artist and lecturer specializing in drawing, painting, and sculpture. He graduated from the Drawing Studio of Jitka Svobodová at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and has been exhibiting his work since the mid-1990s. His artistic practice explores drawing as both a fundamental artistic discipline and a conceptual tool, combining traditional observation with experimentation across media and industrial materials. Káňa’s work has been exhibited widely and is represented in the collections of major institutions, including the National Gallery Prague. At AAU, he teaches drawing with an emphasis on developing observation, creative thinking, and individual artistic expression.
