Azriel Bermant, Ph.D.

Dr. Bermant is a lecturer at Anglo-American University (AAU) and a senior researcher at the Institute of International Relations (IIR) Prague. He holds a Ph.D. in diplomatic history from University College London and an MA in international relations from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Between 2018 and 2019, he served as a research fellow in security studies at the University of Nottingham, following an earlier appointment as a research fellow in the arms control and regional security program at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), Tel Aviv University, from 2012 to 2015. In 2024, he returned to INSS as a visiting research fellow.
Dr. Bermant is the author of Margaret Thatcher and the Middle East (2016, Cambridge University Press) and a fellow of the Royal Historical Society.
