Sean McAlorum

Sean McAlorum is a British designer, educator, and practicing artist with more than 30 years of experience in graphic design, advertising, publishing, and higher education. His career spans the creative industries and academia, combining professional practice in advertising and editorial design with teaching, curriculum development, and artistic practice.
McAlorum joined Anglo-American University in 2026. Alongside his role at AAU, he continues to teach part-time at Prague City Study Centre (Teesside University), where he currently serves as Program Coordinator, having previously held the position of Program Leader. In these roles, he has contributed to curriculum development, established industry partnerships, and mentored emerging designers through live projects, internships, and professional collaborations.
His teaching and creative practice emphasize conceptual thinking, visual communication, and design as a tool for storytelling and problem-solving. Drawing on extensive experience in branding, editorial design, advertising, and art direction, he encourages students to combine strategic thinking with creative experimentation. Outside the classroom, McAlorum is an active painter who primarily works in oils. His recent paintings often feature children and figures gazing into the distance, reflecting his thoughts on an uncertain future. He continues to develop his artistic practice and is actively seeking opportunities to exhibit his work.
