Study International Law in Prague
Ela Angevine
AAU in Prague provides a unique backdrop for your Bachelor in International and European Legal Studies with education in English and the possibility for your first year in Czech, a program oriented in Central Europe, and dual-accreditation in the European Union and United States.
What Makes AAU Special
The international law program provides a diverse curriculum base with international, European Union, international economic, and commercial law. This focus on practical knowledge can be universally applicable anywhere in the world—unlike studying local law.
AAU’s mission is to deliver hands-on experience: a professionally oriented program in cooperation with practice. Students hear from guest lecturers active in the field, complete 150-hours of professional internships, and can participate in the annual student competition “Moot Court” with international participation.
Strategic Position Inside the EU and International Academic Environment
Prague is the perfect location for studying International and EU Law because it sits at the intersection of Central European politics, EU integration, diplomacy, and international business. The city offers academic advantages and practical exposure relevant for international law careers in European institutions, international organizations, arbitration, policy, cross-border legal practice, and more.
This European law degree is great for those who want a modern approach to legal studies because many EU law degrees in Western Europe focus on the original, older member states—not to mention the cost advantage of Central Europe. Prague is a major hub for international students, creating a multicultural environment that mirrors international legal work.
AAU also provides the opportunity to apply your education abroad on Erasmus and University exchange programs—one benefit of being part of a Czech, and therefore EU, accredited program.
After your Bachelor…
You have the opportunity to continue with a Masters degree at AAU in International Business & Policy a International Relations & Diplomacy, for example, or transfer to Czech public law faculties. Connections made through professors, internships, and guest speakers bridge the gap between graduation and your future.
Networking during your legal studies also opens doors to careers in international law, giving you access to International Organizations and Institutions. Prague hosts and cooperates closely with:
- EU agencies and representation offices
- International NGOs
- Arbitration and mediation centers
- Organizace pro lidská práva
- Foreign embassies and diplomatic missions
