Business Administration: Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Whether students want to launch a startup, join an innovative company, lead organizational change, or pursue their own business ventures, the program provides the entrepreneurial mindset and practical experience needed to succeed in today’s rapidly evolving economy.

The degree provides students with the hands-on, practical experience of running a company, while developing their operational, managerial, marketing and interpersonal skills. Industry experts regularly contribute to the program through guest lectures, including Thomas Archer Bata and Jan Čurn (Apify, EY Prague, 2024 Tech Entrepreneur of the Year), who have previously guest lectured and are set to return in the upcoming academic year.

Specializace je úzce navázána na studijní program Soutěž o nejlepší start-up Junior Achievement, especially through two concentration required classes: Entrepreneurship in Practice I and II. The competition has been won four times on the national level by Business students mainly composed of Entrepreneurship concentration students.

Prague has become one of Central Europe’s leading startup and innovation hubs, attracting entrepreneurs, investors, technology companies, and international businesses. By studying entrepreneurship in Prague, students gain access to startup communities, networking opportunities, business competitions, internships, and real-world entrepreneurial ecosystems where innovative ideas can become successful ventures.

The city’s growing international business environment provides valuable opportunities to connect with founders, investors, and business leaders while building practical entrepreneurial experience.

AAU combines business education with practical entrepreneurial experience. Students benefit from dual US and EU accreditation, small class sizes, industry mentorship, startup-focused coursework, and opportunities to participate in nationally and internationally recognized entrepreneurship competitions. Through hands-on projects and venture creation experiences, students graduate prepared to launch businesses, lead innovation, and create meaningful impact.

Complete a three-year bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship and innovation while earning qualifications recognized in both the United States and the Czech Republic. Students combine business fundamentals with entrepreneurship-focused coursework, venture development projects, internships, and practical startup experience. To graduate, students must accumulate 90 US credits (180 ECTS credits) by completing 30 courses.

Having passed all the required and elective courses, students complete their studies by taking the graduation examination which includes a state exam covering the major module, a state exam covering the concentration module, and a thesis defense.

Students develop entrepreneurial thinking, leadership, innovation management, opportunity recognition, business planning, communication, strategic decision-making, problem-solving, and venture development skills. Graduates learn how to evaluate opportunities, manage risk, build teams, and bring innovative ideas to market.

Yes. Graduates receive a degree recognized in both the United States and the Czech Republic through AAU’s dual accreditation, creating opportunities for international careers, entrepreneurship, and postgraduate study around the world.

Udělený titul je současně uznáván jako Bachelor of Arts (BA) ve Spojených státech podle akreditace u WASC Senior College and University Commission a jako Bakalář (Bc.) v České republice, podle akreditace AAVŠ u Národního akreditačního úřadu (NAÚ). Absolventi si mohou zvolit, zda budou používat titul s americkým post-nominálem nebo český titul s před-nominálem.

The Entrepreneurship and Innovation concentration is accredited by the Academic Quality Assurance Board of Anglo-American University. Its completion will be indicated on the transcript and diploma supplement.
