Jacob Maze

Research Fellow

Jacob Maze is a research fellow at AAU in connection to the project “Transformation of the Islamist Parties: Findings from Turkey.” He received his BA from Indiana University and his MA in Middle East Technical University. His interests include Michel Foucault, Hannah Arendt, political identity and violence, especially violence stemming from nationalism. His current research focuses on socio-historical roots of nationalism, read through a Foucauldian lens, in different European contexts and the result of this has been on nationalist-inspired violence. He is the recipient of numerous grants, including from the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic, and has published in international journals.
