Filip Vostal Ph.D., a lecturer from School of Humanities is a recent recipient of two prestigious scientific awards:

These two awards – and the fact that Vostal is currently the project investigator of a research project funded by GACR junior scheme worth of nearly CZK 5 million – clearly show that his research on transformation of scientific temporality opens up new avenues in both sociology of science and sociology of time.

Vostal was actually a student at Anglo-American University. He graduated in 2007 with a B.A. in Politics & Society and carried on pursuing a Ph.D. in sociology from University of Bristol, UK. 

He has published numerous articles in international journals (e.g. Time & Society; European Journal of Social Theory) and is the author of a monograph entitled Accelerating Academia: The Changing Structure of Academic Time.
