Colleen Timmons

Colleen Timmons is the Vice Dean for the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the School of Journalism, Media, and Visual Studies. She manages the daily operations of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and is the main point of contact for humanities students. She is responsible for managing schedules and setting priorities for major academic processes in SHSS, including advising, registration, and state exams. 

Colleen earned both her BA degree in Elementary Education and an MA degree in Student Personnel Services from Northwestern State University in Louisiana. Before joining AAU, she spent 17 years as the Assistant Dean of Academic Services at Tulane University School of Law. Besides managing the daily operations of humanities and advising students, she is currently teaching the Pre-Composition course at AAU. Colleen has also previously taught English as a second language online to international students. 

In her free time, she loves spending time with her two dogs, reading historical fiction, and attending musical and theatrical events in Prague.
