The purpose of Café Social Club is to foster a fun social environment in various cafes in Prague. The club will focus on connecting new students with second and third year students attending AAU. The club will be hosted once every other week at a cafe on Saturday from 2 pm – 4 pm, except for our final meeting which will be celebration of the semester at a park with food and drinks. The club will welcome all and will encourage fun conversation. Hopefully, Café Social Club will create a sense of community among those who attend and help newer students explore Prague through different cafes.

We are a team of AAU students preparing for the Czech University Football League and the Prague Football League. Our goal is to improve our skills, our chemistry, and to build a squad capable of becoming the top team in both leagues. Our team will meet for training at least once a week during the regular season and have 1-2 games throughout the week. The purpose of the AAU Golf Club is to provide an opportunity for AAU students to learn and practice their golf skills while bonding with other students. There is an agreement with the Prague City Golf Club at Rohansky Ostrov near Libensky Most where we agreed on a fee so that AAU students get to play for free and rent golf clubs for only 50czk if they do not have their own. We met once a week last semester since the club started, sometimes twice towards the end of the semester. Students would show up with their clubs or rent clubs and then practice hitting balls on the driving range, short game, and putting range. The students with more experience helped teach the students who were new to golf, therefore creating bonding moments with students.

The Anglo-American University Futsal Team is founded on principles of inclusivity, sportsmanship, and well-being. Under this constitution, the club will be led by an elected committee comprised of dedicated individuals who are committed to upholding the integrity and spirit of the club. The management of the club has established connections and a dedicated manner to organize club meetups.

The futsal club serves as a catalyst for holistic development, fostering physical fitness, mental resilience, and social connectivity among our student body. Beyond the thrill of competition, the club provides a nurturing environment for personal growth and skill refinement, where players of all levels can flourish and thrive. By promoting teamwork, discipline, and a sense of belonging, the club not only enriches the student experience but also contributes to the vibrant tapestry of our university community. Through adherence to this constitution, we pledge to uphold the values of fair play, respect, and camaraderie.

The booking of the pitch in advance will be facilitated through an agreement between leadership members to ensure smooth coordination and accessibility for all members. Utilizing a designated booking system, we will have the opportunity to reserve the pitch at predetermined times and locations. Additionally, the club will maintain a centralized communication platform, such as a dedicated group chat, where updates on pitch availability, booking, and other relevant information will be conveyed promptly. This approach not only enhances efficiency but also fosters a sense of community and engagement among members, ensuring that everyone has equal opportunity to participate in the club’s activities. Additionally, the club promotes playing time for all members and creates an environment that brings people together. Unsportsmanlike conduct, discrimination, or bullying of any form will not be tolerated in the club and will be dealt will by the club’s management members.

The Photography club is a place to improve your skills or just simply learn more about photography, meet other people who are also interested in photography and art, and take trips around the city with other students to capture the beauty of Prague. Each meeting we will have a photo theme presented to the group. At the next meeting photos of that specific theme will be shared along with any special photos or ideas members want to share. We will also discuss different photography terms, notable photographers, and ways to take advanced photos right on your phone. No professional camera needed, although, if you are looking to buy one we will also facilitate suggestions on where you could shop for one. All in all this club welcomes everyone, from beginners to more advanced students. We are here to have fun and express ourselves!

We are a safe, no-pressure, welcoming community of people who love to climb and love to help others do it too. Whether you are new to climbing or have been doing it for years, everyone is welcome. Students can join us to try a new sport, get a workout in, work through fears, or just to make new friends. We’re committed to lowering barriers to the climbing world because we believe it can change people’s lives. Meetings are every Sunday and are led by Clara Berens and Jess Cuff. We alternate between SmichOFF Climbing Center and Boulder Bar.

Students Against Violence is dedicated to social and political change through fundraising, volunteering, and student organizing. Our mission is centered around active change and communicating our message to help and empower different social groups. Our club provides students with space to express opinions on social issues and a platform to get involved in both global and local activism. Our club is organized and led by an Executive Team, comprised of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Events Chair, and Marketing Chair. The Executive Team organizes and leads meetings and events at the request of our club’s members and the broader student body. Whenever a student approaches Students Against Violence with an idea or organization they want to promote, it is our responsibility to explore this request and decide whether or not it is an our ability to assist them in organizing and leading an event. Students Against Violence exists to introduce students to local and global activism and assist them in seeing their ideas come to life.

Writing club focuses on creative writing and creating a safe space for students to express their thoughts and ideas. During meetings we discuss aspects of writing such as our favorite books, writing features we hate, and what inspires us. After these discussions we then do different activities to start writing such as write about a specific topic or work on a book idea we have. Throughout the semester we work on specific pieces to present at our poetry nights.

Yoga Club focuses on creating a supportive, welcoming environment where people of all experience levels can learn more about yoga together. Yoga Club does not tolerate any kind of harassment, microaggressions, body-shaming, bad attitudes, or judgment. We make a collective effort to break down stereotypes, misconceptions, and cultural appropriations surrounding yoga. We encourage officers and teachers to research the roots of yoga’s history and honor its lineage. We offer stretching, meditation, pilates, kundalini, vinyasa, yin, and hatha yoga. This wide variety allows people to plan which meetings will best suit their interests regarding physical activity level. Yoga Club offers mindfulness practices and an outlet for students to prioritize mental health, physical exercise, and socialization. We create the semester schedule in advance so students can plan accordingly to which classes they want to attend.

The Asian Student Association is a space where Asian students can come together and celebrate their cultures and support each other as a community. Non-Asian people are also welcomed to be allies and learn from other members of the club. Inclusivity and good allyship are of the utmost importance to the ASA. All are welcome in the club, but everyone is expected to be respectful and supportive of each other. We value community opinions and much of the direction of the club will depend on the feedback of members. We will offer them ample opportunities to express what they are interested in discussing at meetings, and the types of events they want to participate in.

The purpose of our Model UN Club is to cultivate a deep understanding of international relations and diplomatic processes among students, while enhancing their public speaking, critical thinking, and teamwork skills. Through engaging simulations of United Nations conferences, our club aims to provide members with a practical experience in diplomacy, where they can explore global issues, negotiate solutions, and develop a nuanced perspective on world affairs. Our goal is to inspire informed global citizens who are equipped to contribute meaningfully to discussions on international policies and challenges.

The club will operate through regular meetings and practice sessions where members will research and prepare for various roles representing different countries and committees. We will participate in Model UN conferences, both locally and nationally, to apply our skills in real-world scenarios. Additionally, our club will offer workshops and guest speaker events to enhance members’ knowledge and abilities. By fostering a collaborative and supportive environment, we aim to ensure that each member gains confidence and expertise in international diplomacy and advocacy.

The Run Club is established as a warm and welcoming environment for all students at AAU to come together and support each other in personal, physical, and academic development. Membership is open to all university students with an interest in running and moving their body. Regular meetings will occur weekly at various parks and trails around Prague to ensure easy accessibility to meetings for anyone interested and will be announced using Instagram as well as WhatsApp. Our budget will be used to do morning breakfast clubs and assist students in entering road races around the Czech Republic.

We hold regular sessions where you follow along an adventure and tell a fantastic one of a kind story collaboratively with other players. As the book club of AAU, we want to create a supportive community of people that enjoy reading and want to share and discuss their perspectives of the literary texts that we select. Through these discussions with one another, we want to be able to help people grow intellectually and also culturally, by reading many different kinds of literary texts from all over the world. Additionally, the book club would a wonderful way for new students at AAU to be able to get to know each other and engage in interesting conversations with one another.

The club will meet once a month in different establishments (eg. cafes, libraries, etc.) to discuss the books in a civilized and respectful manner with one another. Everyone who wants to participate is welcome to join! If for some reason a meeting is unable to be held in person, meetings will be held online, unless the circumstances are too dire for a meeting to take place, however all updates will be given in the WhatsApp group chat. Meeting times will be scheduled in respect to the members’ schedules, however this will of course not always be possible, so compromises will have to be made. The books will be chosen through a poll, and will be chosen from different genres, cultures, countries, authors, etc., in order to be inclusive and have a diverse range of topics to discuss. Additionally, members are also always able to make book suggestions that will be taken into account.

Depending on the size of the group, there may be hardcopies given out. Otherwise, the club will always provide a PDF version of the books that are being read, and club members are also more than welcome to invest in a book themselves. We want this to be a supportive and enjoyable environment for everyone, thus have a strict policy on respectfulness, especially during discussions.
