Students are invited to learn about the current situation in Israel and Palestine from the Yonatan Shapiras' point of view of his previous experience with the army.

Yonatan Shapira is former Captain and rescue helicopter pilot at Israeli Air force. In 2003 he left the army after organising a group of 27 pilots who refused to take part in the killing and oppression of the Palestinian civilians. Nowadays he is one of the most known voices of of former soldiers of IDF, who is engaging in organisation of the dialogue between Palestinians and Israelis. He took part in four attempts to break thirteen year long sea blockade on Gaza, which he sees as inhuman. The last attempt was a year ago onboard the Al-Awda boat with Ship to Gaza Norway. In israel he is known also as a musician and singer of Hebrew protest songs. He holds a Master degree in peace and conflict studies. And in Prague will Yonatan talk about the current situation in Israel and Palestine from the point of view of his previous experience with the army.
