MgA. Veronika Šrek Bromová

The works of Veronika Bromová, already since the early 1990s, have belonged among the most interesting of the Czech art scene through today. She is one of the best known multimedia artists in the Czech Republic with exhibitions in many galleries in Europe and USA. She represented the Czech Republic at the Venice Biennale in 1999. Her works are also placed in important public collections of the Czech republic and around Europe, for example, the Czech National Gallery, Centre Georges Pompidou, Museum of Modern Art in Paris, and Moderna Museet Stockholm. Currently, her activities include leading the Cross Media Art Studio at Anglo American University, since 2015, and curating the gallery Cabinet Chaos (in the homestead Chaos near Policky in East Bohemia). Previous to her AAU affiliation, she was head of the New Media Studies department at the Academy of Fine Arts, Prague from 2002-2011. She also cooperates with other institutions or associations that are focused on art education, for example Artedu, CIEE, World learning. Inc., Západočeská universita umění a designu, Masarykova universita v Brně, Janáčkova Akademie Múzických umění, FaVU Brno. In addition, she studies art-therapy under the Czech Art-Therapy Association. Bromova’s most recent exhibit opened this June 2016: it is a solo exhibition entitled "Unity" at the East Bohemian Gallery in Pardubice, in Dům U Jonáše till Sept. 4th 2016.
