Students will gain a refined expertise in analysis, history and interpretation of the humanities as well as in comparison and critique of cultures and their narratives. The Master of Arts in Humanities program combines theory and practical application using a variety of methodologies from arts, literature, philosophy, social theory and the social sciences.
Studies culminate with the presentation and defense of a master’s thesis, and an oral examination. Students are tested by a state examination panel on learned topics in Culture Studies, Philosophy, Literary Studies, Aesthetics, Theoretical Paradigms in the Human Sciences and History.
Graduates holding the program title are specialists in research methods and terminology for studies in global and religious cultures, cultural psychology, philosophy, art and media studies.
Our masters graduates are qualified to use their title to apply to Ph.D. programs of study at private and public universities not only in the Czech Republic, but in the European Union, United States, Canada and other countries around the world.
