The B.A. in Politics and Society: Jewish Studies—History, Culture and Prague Emphasis program trains students to use a systematic approach to Jewish history, religion, law and culture from rooted to contemporary history. Students acquire skills in critical analysis and thinking as they develop an understanding of Jewish roots in Western culture and contemporary challenges Jewish society and culture experience in central and eastern European society and politics.



Central Europe's position in the European Union and global community is shifting, and this program provides a broad study of political and social sciences combined with an emphasis on the historical and current affairs of the European central, east and west. Students acquire knowledge, theory and context that is pertinent especially now that the Czech Republic and other formerly-communist countries in the region are undergoing political, social and economic transformation for and under the institutions of the European Union.

This is a unique, dynamic and intercultural higher education experience that trains well-rounded and researched graduates.


Graduates are trained and ready to participate in a variety of specialized research projects in the field of Jewish studies. They are also encouraged to use their specialization in media, publishing, tourism and cultural management.

Gradates are also encouraged to use their program title to apply to post-graduate, master’s programs in the European Union, United States, Canada and many other countries.
