AAU inaugurated new AAU Gallery
Anglo-American University officialy inaugurated the new AAU Gallery by opening exhibition “No Illusions” – 21st century drawings by Robert Horvitz on Friday, 12 March 2010, at 18:00.
The new AAU Art Gallery called (art) SPACE is located on the ground floor of the Knights of Malta building at Lázeňská 2, Maltézské náměstí, Prague 1 (Malá Strana). (art) SPACE occupies a part of what had been AAU’s library.
Horvitz’s exhibition will continue from 15 March to 21 May 2010 and will be open to the public on Mondays-Thursdays from 10:00 to 18:00, and on Fridays from 10:00 to 15:00.
Robert Horvitz teaches contemporary art history at AAU. Born in 1947 he studied art at Yale University. Before coming to AAU he taught at Yale, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Rhode Island School of Design and the Massachusetts College of Art. He contributed articles regularly to Artforum magazine in the 1970s, before he became art editor of the Whole Earth Review. He has previously exhibited his drawings in Prague, New York, London, Belgrade, Atlanta and elsewhere.
