Anglo-American University’s School of Business Administration would like to invite students, teachers, alumni and supporters for an inspirational evening with Mgr. Bc. Jan Hebnar, MBA, to be held on Wednesday, February 15th, at 6 PM. Since Jan has an extensive experience in the business field and government relations with a special focus on the Chinese market, he will present the extremely interesting topic of “Dealing with Chinese Business People.”

obrázek About the lecturer: JanHebnar started his career with the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade where he soon became the Director of the EU Market Department. In 2009, Jan was transferred to the Czech Embassy in China and worked as the Deputy Head of the Commercial Section of the Embassy. With the ambition to dive deep into the Chinese business world, Jan came back to China in 2013 as the Managing Director of a well-established European engineering group. In his spare time, Jan continues his passion in opening doors to the Chinese market for western businesses through his own consulting firm, Sinovia, and occasionally lectures in well-established economic universities on various topics concerning doing business in Asia.

Highlights of the lecture: The trade between China and developed world economies has been steadily growing for more than three decades. In the course of this period, countless business deals have been closed between Chinese businesses and their counterparts in the rest of the world. Jan Hebnar has devoted his entire professional life to studying the behavior of Chinese businesses and the Chinese economy and society at large. During his speech, Mr. Hebnar will address several practical tips on how to do business with partners from China, including:

1) Understanding the Chinese way of negotiation and uncovering dirty negotiation tricks

2) Social etiquette, dining, the exchange of gifts and building Guangxi

3) Hierarchy as a remnant of post Confucianist society and its effects on the world of business

The MBA Open Lecture will take place at Anglo-American University, Letenská 5, in room 3.12. Light refreshments will be provided. Please register via Facebook or e-mail mba@aauni.edu. We look forward to seeing you all.
