Anglo-American University’s School of Business Administration would like to invite AAU students, teachers, alumni, and supporters for the first MBA event of 2017! On Wednesday, January 18th, at 18:00, our Chapman MBA lecturer of Business Network Advantage, Dr. Darcy Kamal, will speak on the topic “Asymmetry in Business Relationships.”

About the speaker: Darcy Fudge Kamal is an Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at the Argyros School of Business and Economics at Chapman University. Her research interests include how trust, strategic alliances, and buyer-supplier relationships improve firm performance. Darcy has published in the Journal of International Business Studies. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota where Darcy received two teaching awards for courses in strategic management. Prior to entering academia, she worked in the telecom services industry in Canada conducting market research and business intelligence to support strategic planning at MTS-Allstream.

The MBA Open Lecture will provide an overview of Mrs. Fudge Kamal’s scholarly work on strategic alliances and buyer-supplier relationships. Her work challenges the longstanding belief that business partnerships between firms similar in size and resources will form more trustworthy stable partnerships. She will present her findings from various settings such as electronic equipment manufacturing as well as the Thoroughbred horse industry.

The MBA Open Lecture will take place at Anglo-American University, Letenská 5, in room 2.07. Light refreshments will be provided. Please register via Facebook or send an e-mail to mba@aauni.edu. We look forward to seeing all of you.
