Afghan Ambassador at AAU

H.E. Mohammad Kacem Fazelly delivered a lecture to over fifty students, faculty and staff on the current situation in Afghanistan as part of the AAU Ambassadorial Series. Organized by the School of International Relations on Diplomacy in follow up to a past lecture held by AAU Senior lecturer Jonathan Terra, Ambassador Fazelly enthralled the students with his personal experiences and academic insights into the historic roots of the current Afghan crisis. As a former member of President Karzai’s government, Ambassador Fazelly also shared his views on the future of Western engagement in the region and the continued NATO presence. The lecture was followed by a Q&A  session with the students, where the Ambassador fielded some interesting questions.
