Assoc. Prof. Alan Krautstengl, Ph.D.

President Emeritus; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to North America

Alan Krautstengl received his Ph.D. from Kent State University in Applied Mathematics and held Assistant Professorship positions at Case Western Reserve University and Black Hills State University. He was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor by the University of Puerto Rico and has repeatedly served as a visiting professor at Chapman University. Professor Krautstengl has impressive professional experience in academia (including distinguished scholarly work and top academic management), business, and industry in the U.S. and Europe. Since 2005 till 2016 Alan Krautstengl served as the AAU president. Under his presidency the University experienced significant growth both in terms of degree-seeking and study abroad students, which together represent almost 70 countries. The institution grew in its strength and the academic and scholarly work of its faculty and students expanded. Its financial standing was significantly fortified, graduate programs were introduced, and the University also began undertaking fundraising activities and developing cooperation with its alumni. Great achievements were that of the relocation of the campus to current magnificent Thurn-Taxis Palace as well as the acquisition of the world class WSCUC accreditation.
